I read this yesterday. See what socialism leads people to? "Do I stay on the .gov tit or do I get off it by being forced into sexual slavery?"

I have perhaps whined of this malady before - I create a great post, and attempt to spell-check it. Then, my wonderful, free, reliable <ahem> Microsoft browser product shits the bed with my post. This event has created a black, dull, throbbing hatred, way, way down deep in my soul for Bill Gates, Microsoft products, computers in general... and for blogging.
See, I got a good drunk-on the other night. Sometimes in fits of insobriety, my mind is freed from the daily rubbish of job maintenance, and I am inspired to blog about one thing or another, but on this particular night, I ranted out a good bit o' the hype. I was pretty durned proud of myself, proud enough that I thought I'd test my literacy and sobriety <ahem> with the spell-checker. That's when the magic happened.
The post disappeared from my screen, and the browser crashed. I had nothing on my clipboard. I began to scream obscenities at the computer. I broke out in a fit of rage (this is VERY uncharacteristic of my behavior in the last five years) and smashed my $40 mouse into the wall, which at the time, was unfortunately holding up my $30 Bluetooth adapter. Tiny shards of black plastic keep turning up in the dark corners of my den :@( .
I haven't felt that much regret for my stupidity in years. It put me off blogging for several days, but I have replaced the broken equipment and the fractured mindset and have stepped back into the fray.
I will now go off to visit my friends Jheka Blitz (The Daily Blitz) and Eric Cowperthwaite (Eric's random musings) and pay my respects to those two Californians to let them know that I have returned.
None at all, in fact. So what is a Mexican national doing flying four illegal immigrant Chinese into the U.S. for?
I'm telling you - we're just going to continue to allow people in from the southern border until such time as an American city disappears in a pillar of fire - then, the politicians will act like it's somebody else's fault.
I am sure that you have heard Jeff Foxworthy's interesting take on the qualities of Rural Americans. Finally, there's scientific proof that explains the existence of Redneck America, straight from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Bath and the University of Sussex. This article in the TimesOnline explains how a reduction in the gene pool of the creatures that evolved into humans some 4 million years ago created a population of defective men:
"The results (of the study they performed), which are published today in the journal Public Library of Science Biology, suggest that the ancestors of humans and chimpanzees passed through an evolutionary bottleneck during which as few as 10,000 individuals survived " And earlier:
"THE human race owes its susceptibility to many diseases to widespread inbreeding early in our evolutionary history, new research has suggested."
This confirms what we've all come to know and love about our species, that diversity in breeding prevents defects - possibly rednecks, too.
It's a constant barrage, unending... It's the crappy news out of Iraq! So how bad is it?
Read this report from someone who actually fought there. It's not as bad as the pundits say it is; rather, the real story is how incompetent and lazy the "journalists" are.
I found three goofy pictures on the net that I thought I'd share with you:
Dan Al-Rather, on the ball for See-B.S. News:

What liberals think is a good strategy for warding off those pesky enemies:

Queen of the Zombies:

This just in from MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) - Muayed Al-Nasseri, Commander of the "Army of Muhammad," a terrorist organization that organized and committed attacks against Coalition Forces in the embattled country of Iraq, claimed the aid his organization received came from Iran and Syria. "Many factions of the resistance are receiving aid from the neighboring countries. We in the Army of Muhammad... The fighting has been going on for almost two years now, and there must be aid, and this aid came from the neighboring countries. We got aid primarily from Iran. The truth is that Iran has played a significant role in supporting the Army of Muhammad and many factions of the resistance. I have some units, especially in southern Iraq, which receive Iranian aid in the form of arms and equipment."
I'm lovin' it. Aid from Iran and Syria - why, those miserable clowns have been murdering and imprisoning our citizens and soldiers, and ruthlessly slaughtering innocent civilians from countries they've oppressed for what - 25 years now? Now we have definitive proof in the form of confession of a captured commander in the field of the direct involvement of foreign governments against us in the War On Terror.
Does this mean that I hope that Iran will soon be a target of our wrath? After all, we have a 25-year-old stated policy on such behavior...
No. I'm not a warmonger on this issue - something like 70% of the population of that country is under age 30, and is bitterly tired of the pathological assault on individual liberties by the Mullahs and their theocracy. A change in government looks like it may come to pass, assuming that the people give Khatami a swift kick in the pants and bring on a leader that can oust the ruling Mullah class. Such an event would herald the biggest accomplishment in the War On Terror - Muslim people throwing off the chains of autocratic theocracy and adopting democratic reforms WITHOUT intervention from a foreign power. You see signs of unrest in the youth in that country; there's a revolution in foment - if only it can gain ground against the police state erected by the ruling class, it may be able to effect change inside that nation, without intervention from abroad.
I am praying that the young people of Iran manage this feat BEFORE the Mullahs finish the construction of the nuclear bombs, upon which they are busily toiling away. I do not want us to attempt to take another country on in a land war, especially one as large as Iran. We simply don't have the manpower, and I am unenthusiastic about the nature of conscription. Nevertheless, we cannot allow the viciously corrupt and evil Mullahs to possess a nuclear weapon, as I am sure that they will see fit to slip it into the hands of one of the many terrorist organizations they have been funding and supporting for the last quarter-century.
The employment of such a weapon would mean a great tragedy for the world, as our retribution would surely be terrible in its response, and untold millions of people would perish.
If we have to disarm the Mullahs, it will be imperative that we perform the action surgically from the air, with minimal collateral damage. Such an attack will minimize discontent from the youth population - I am hoping that we attack the Mullahs personally, too, as the death of the top leaders of that country may be all the push needed to free the youth movement to take their government back.
Uh, oh... it looks like this kind of crap is starting to happen here. Pray for the safety of Christians everywhere; only the Power of God can intercede to moderate the actions of men.
Muslims in the U.S., I call on you to rebuke the violent people in your community and report them to the authorities if it seems like they have evil intentions to harm others and violate the law. It is your holy duty to follow the principle of faith in your religion and be at peace with your neighbors. You do not want to start harming Christians in this country, we outnumber you probably 15-1.
You know how impressed I am with the warmaking capabilities of the French, right? Well, you really should go and read this. You will laugh, I assure you.
By now, I am sure that you have heard of the foolish remarks of the Indonesian Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, who has said that the U.S. must complete its relief efforts by March, after which time, the soldiers, Marines, and Naval Aviation personnel who have been risking their lives to save his impoverished people will be expelled.
He's pretty grateful for our efforts there, I gather.
This is the kind of attitude that confirms my understanding that you don't have to have the world's approval to do what is right, since many of the world's leaders and people are motivated by selfish and wicked thoughts - this is revealed in their actions and their words. Think of this in local terms: you come home from dinner, and see your neighbor's house burning, and his family is standing around watching. You give him a blanket and a box of canned food, only for him to turn and say to you, "Thanks - hey, kike, get off my lawn!"
So is there any reason at all that we should be spending one red cent of tax payer money on aid to people who cheer in the streets when our country is attacked? Maybe these people, open supporters of Al Qaeda, should consider their circumstances - why did the tsunami strike their shores, and not the beaches of the "evil" U.S.A.? Whose Divine Hand causes the wicked to be punished in the world?
I've recently read on Newsmax that the Indian government is saying, "No, thanks for asking" on international aid from the tsunami tragedy. I like their individual, rugged, "cowboy-up" stance - it is a position few other nations will take when offered the ever-increasing handout from Uncle Sugar.
Indonesia, however, is happily accepting aid. Why, a young gentleman with a t-shirt bearing the handsome visage of his hero, Osama Bin Laden (that sage and caring child-killer) was recently photographed receiving aid from U.S. sources.
Nice, that. Should we really be sending anything to that country? An Imam there recently was preaching "jihad" against the United States, the population is openly hostile to U.S. citizens, and Indonesia is a defacto supporter of our enemies. You may remember that U.S authorities foiled a plot to blow up a number of airliners over the Pacific ocean there...
We're like that hot girl in school that always dates the mean losers. We're just not happy unless we're giving it away to somebody who wants to see us dead.
I was entranced at reports of voting in Palestine today - first time in history. Most of the armed militiamen terrorist asshats went to the polls with their rifles, but removed the magazines in an effort to show their non-violent intentions.
However, at several polling places, armed militiamen terrorist asshats showed up and fired their guns in the air to frighten the voters ahead of them in line into getting out of their way - they wanted to vote first.
Not a great start for the "new republic" of Palestine.
So how would the Palestinian constitution's version of our Second Amendment read? Here's my outline for a probable versing:
"A group of undiscplined bung-holers thinking that they are necessary for the security of a Sharia-ruled terrorist state, the right of idiots to incompetently discharge AK-47s into the air (and send impressionable teenagers to blow up pizza parlors) shall not be infringed."
Uh oh, just in time for Epiphany - Papa's got a brand-new bag. Eric Cowperthwaite, my blog-mate, has gotten a new PDA (Personal Doofus Appliance) and is endeavoring to challange The Little Tyrant (Me) to a remote-blog-fest. This will be a really one-sided competition, since Eric's doting wife bought him a Tungsten-C which has 802.11 WI-Fi in it, and I just have Bluetooth, since back in my day (I'm almost 40, so I can now officially sound like Pop Warner) "WE DIDN'T HAVE NO STINKIN' WI-FI - AND WEEEEE DIDN'T NEED IT!"
Well, good for him. I'M getting an AR-15 lower for MY birthday - hmmph! SO THERE! HAH! I get to build a rifle, while you sit around in some Starbucks, blogging for the masses! HAH! Sure, I can blog from out in the hinterlands, but you are obliged to hang around trendy bookstores with hot college girls...
What was I saying? Anyway, good on ya, mate, and I hope that the new toy takes away any of the fool excuses you've been giving for not blogging...
Lordy, lordy, look who's becoming a middle-aged lout!
Yes, friend, your Libercontrarian is about to Cross the Rubicon - on Monday, I'll be 40 years old. The eternal child has grown up!
So, now that I'm an adult, what am I planning on doing to publicly confirm it? Will I quit ogling attractive women? Yes, with the exception of one (Mrs. Libercontrarian, you are the only apple of my eye). Will I quit being a patriot and an Armchair Commando? No. Will I shut up and keep my opinions to myself, hunker down and try to make some real money for my retirement?
Not likely. You see, I just received a promotion; your Cell Phone Salesman is now King of Cell Phone Salesmen, (in the Denver area, that is) with an impressive increase in salary and commission. That's right, kids, I'm in Management, now. From your collective groans I can see that you suspect that The Little Tyrant (Mrs. Libercontrarian's appellation for me when I strut about the house in my "pointing and demanding" mode) will be a hellishly mean boss - nothing could be further from the truth! I'm a good trainer, a competent leader (the Navy taught me leadership skills I wouldn't have picked up on my own) and a team-builder. I have faith in employees, and will place enough responsibility and autonomy in the hands of my people to Get The Job Done.
Folks, it looks like my 40th year will be the beginning of the best times of my life!
Invariably, you readers are aware that I have shown inattention to my blog this past week. I can tell by the effects of my reduced readership; counters are down, hate mail from crazed lefties has degraded - fear not, I will attend to my duties with assiduousness, now that the Christmas season has passed, and we are charging headlong into the second half of the first decade of the 21st Century!
You'd think that this is a no-brainer: It's not too smart to shoot mortars at U.S. Marines. You remember Marines, right? They're people with attitude problems, bad haircuts, rifles, and fighter-bombers. They're officially on record as being crabby toward terrorists, and often voice their opinions loudly, frequently using rifles to punctuate the emotions in their sentiments.
Now, Marines are punctuating emotions (and perforating terrorist skulls) from 2/3 of a mile. The article claims that this is the longest sniper kill with a 7.62 NATO/.308 cal. rifle in the Iraqi Theatre of Operations. If you read it, you will find this account to be a testament to the professionalism and courage of our young war-fighters - you will note that one of these gentlemen is a Citizen Soldier as well, thank you very much, and is doing his job as a member of the Nation of Riflemen with poise and grace.
