This Has Been Bothering Me For Two Weeks, So... I'm Going On A Rant

[Rolleyes]

News-flash! Conservative gunblogger goes on a rant against Leftists!

Here's a little something I did responding to a post on AR15.com:

Due respect, you are very, very wrong about this - the American Leftist wishes, at the zenith of his world-view, that America certainly be destroyed.

Why?

America represents success. Leadership. Discipline. Motivation. "Stick-to-it-ivness." America represents a conglomeration of well-disciplined people working together to create a greater good, motivated by individual success, identified by monetary achievement and social peace and justice, aided by steadfast belief in a Supreme Being.

Why would such structure frighten the American Leftist?

Because it's not self-destructive - EVERY Leftist is a delusional person to some extent - consider the idea that begins, "Wouldn't it be great if we could just..."

"Ban all guns - then, there'd be no more people getting murdered."

"Ban racism - then, there'd be no more people getting offended or cheated."

"Ban sexism - then, there'd be no more people getting their asses pinched in the break room."

"Ban injustice - then, there'd be no more people getting unequal treatment."

"Ban judgmentalism - then, there'd be no more people staring down their noses at me as I wreck my life."

"Ban religiosity - then, I wouldn't have to worry about any kind of eternal judgment."

and so on, and so on.

In other words, they're in a permanent state of denial about the inherent faults of mankind, and frequently evidencing serious mental instabilities because the world continues to fail to meet up with their utopian vision.

Einstein said (loose quote) that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while anticipating differing results, but Leftists, having seen 100 million people slaughtered over the last 100 years in pursuit of their Utopia, regard it all as having come about because of poor implementation of a noble idea, or even the fault of the Greedy Capitalists.

Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder. Talk to any serious fuckup, and he will invariably have all of the trappings of Nancy-Pelosi-thinking.

They are evil incarnate.

It felt good to get it out of my system. I think such "Rantasams" help cleanse the soul of putrifying anger. That's why I blog, but when I'm as busy as I have been lately, I am unable to get in there and "pop the zit" to remove the infection. Once in a while, though you've got to commit your hatreds to media so they can be exercised.

I am a liberal, but I do my best to avoid such oversimplifications (e.g. ban all guns, ban religiosity, etc.) I guess I believe that the only simple truth is that there are no simple truths.

The real question isn't whether or not you are a liberal - pretty much any citizen born after 1935 believes in the concepts of Classic Liberalism, or was instead taught those lessons at the dock in Nurmberg. Sadly, when you say "liberal," (a term I have chosen not to utilize any more, owing the the fact that "liberal" and "Leftist" are two very different things all together), I fear you are really talking about Leftist thinking, not Jeffersonian/Russeauian Classic Liberalism.

You are not a Leftist if you understand that the world is a complex place. I can say that I have disagreed with you on a number of points, but doubt that you have a deep Leftist streak in your reasoning owing to the fact that you seem to actually want to understand how things work in the world, and you feel compelled to create debate through reasonable means.

Leftists don't do this - Stalin entertained no debate. You did things his way or you got shot, and sometimes you got shot anyway, 'cause he was kUH-RAZY!

I think extremists at either end of the continuum are crazy and are difficult, if not impossible, to debate with in a civilized manner, whether liberal or conservative.

I believe that the "left-right" continuum is an oversimplification as well. The spectrum fails to take into account that a person's classification on the continuum depends on the issue. I try to avoid that type of terminology as much as I can.
