My letter to Greta

Greta Van Susteren had a special goblin, ah, I mean guest on this evening... Secretary Clinton.

She was there to spout the most current set of lies about the shocking state of affairs down on the Mexican border. Greta was in "suckup-mode," and completely supported the lie that "full-auto" firearms are being straw-purchased here in the States and smuggled down to Mexico.

 

Ridiculous.

As if you could purchase full-auto guns from the corner Walmart or the 7-11. Greta checked no facts, but instead breathlessly agreed, buying the ATF's line that "they've tracked the weapons, and they all came from the United States!!"

So I wrote the pinhead an email:

 

Subject: "Couldn't you be bothered to check your facts?"

Your interview with Secretary Clinton was laughably bad – you were so busy trying to suck up to her and to your contacts at the ATF you never bothered to check to see if there were any inconsistencies in the story about guns– which there are.

There are inconsistencies that a nine-year-old child could see.
The ATF is claiming that the firearms the Mexican authorities have confiscated came from America. You’ve reported, and both them, the ATF, and Secretary Clinton agree that these weapons are fully automatic.

How’s that possible? Buying a full-auto weapon requires extensive registration if it’s to be purchased legally. They ARE NOT readily available “in one of the 6,000 gunshops located within 100 miles of the Mexican border,” another “fact” that was just created out of thin air (like all the rest of the “facts” surrounding Mexico’s light-speed disintegration into anarchy) by various handwringers with gun-grabbing agendas.

Next time, have your interns actually ASK THE MEXICAN AUTHORITIES for the serial numbers, then take those numbers to the manufacturers to see how the weapons were originally distributed.

I’ll bet that you’ll find they were sold in Central America by U.S. government authorities in the 1980s. These guns ARE NOT coming from legitimate gun dealers – there are few dealers who can legally obtain such full-auto guns.
 

If the argument is, “Well, the guns are being bought legally by straw purchasers as semi-auto, and converted” then I’d say that the fault lies in the law-breakers doing that – then the ATF needs to quit whining or squeezing its media sources and political connections for funding.
Remember the last time the ATF had to worry about funding? They made a big deal about a dangerous little church in Texas with a bunch of twisted child-molesters… and they burned it down, with the children in it. Please don’t just accept their word at face value – do your job and CHECK THE FACTS.
